The blocks were never hidden; they never rendered. The author bio was behind if ( get_the_author_meta( ‘description’ ) ) and Related was behind if ( $cat_ids ) plus have_posts(). On your test post the author has no Biographical Info filled in, and “Uncategorized” has only the one other post — so both conditions failed and the sections vanished. No amount of display: grid !important would bring back markup that was never printed. The bio now renders always with a fallback line, and Related falls back to recent posts, labelling itself “Recently published” when it can’t find siblings.
The full-width disappearing was my own doing. I paired the correct margin maths with overflow-x: clip on the parent — which clipped the very breakout it was meant to protect. Removed, and the technique now uses left: 50% with a translateX(-50%) and overflow-x: hidden on html, body to keep the scrollbar off the page without clipping anything.
The gap is now zeroed on every wrapper between the CTA and the footer, #inner-wrap included — that one I’d never targeted.
