IREHR’s newest report, Breaching the Mainstream, was cited in Esquire.
Author Charles P. Pierce writes “Dana Milbank of Washington Post calls our attention to a scarifying but necessary report produced by Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights that illustrates vividly how widely spread the prion disease is within the conservative movement and, thus, throughout all levels in the Republican Party.”
He continues, “Helpfully, the report chooses 10 individual state legislators to demonstrate the problem, and also to illustrate how fealty to a previous right-wing enthusiasm easily morphs into a current one.”
Pierce goes into detail about some of the profiled legislators, their connections to Far-Right Facebook groups, and how this poses a problem for the future of the GOP.
