IREHR with Southern Workers Organizing Committee

Leonard Zeskind at SWOC

On Saturday, July 18, IREHR’s Leonard Zeskind conducted a two-hour workshop for low-wage workers organizers from Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

The topics were: understanding the white nationalist movement, information on the Tea Party movement, and building responses to both of these threats to democracy and civil rights for all. The workshop was designed to prepare participants for the racist and white supremacist upsurge expected as the battles over Confederate symbols continue. It was well attended, and participants gave the workshop rave reviews.
